§ 16-83. Permits for special displays.

  • This division shall not apply to any fair association, fire company, or other responsible organization for the display of fireworks on special occasions; provided, however, that the fair association, fire company or other responsible organization has received a written permit for the display of fireworks from the mayor, with the concurrence of a majority of the council. The mayor and the council shall have the right in their sole discretion to grant or deny issuance of a permit to display fireworks. All permits shall be in writing, signed by the mayor and shall expire 24 hours after the date of issuance.
